Apple is on track to deploy the latest version of its iPhone in several new Asian territories,China being the first, according to an official statement issued by the company yesterday.
In the meanwhile, Cupertino is planning to send iPhone 4 shipments to at least three additional territories: Malaysia, and The Philippines, as well as Israel, according to a report by 9to5mac, which learned of these upcoming launches from an unspecified source.
The site claims to have been tipped off that “Apple has some more international iPhone 4 launches up it its sleeve.” In this respect, “the iPhone 4 should be launching in both Israel and Malaysia next weekend and presumably a few other countries,” the leakers allegedly told the site.
Initially, there was little information regarding the Israeli launch, but the site managed to scrape together more details related to the Malaysian launch.
According to the report, both the iPhone 4 and the 8 GB iPhone 3GS are launching in Malaysia this upcoming Thursday, September 23rd.
Carriers will include both Maxis and DiGi, the source reportedly said.
An update to the same report comes with new information regarding the iPhone 4 launch in Israel, as well as in The Philippines, and Turkey.
According to the new tip, “Israel will be getting the iPhone 4 on September 24th on Orange, The Philippines will get the iPhone 4 on September 26th for Globe Telecoms, and Turkey will be getting the iPhone 4 on Turkcell & Vodafone Turkey on September 24th.”
We’ll be keeping an eye out on Apple’s PR section to confirm whether or not this leak is accurate.
However, it is reasonable to assume that, with this many territories scheduled to receive iPhone 4 shipments, Apple would have confirmed at least one of them, in addition to China.
